Initially made for a historically accurate game jam, Lindisfarne is still growing as an indie game: with dev logs full of historical research and learning curves, asset packs that include UI and textures, and a sequence of patches planned through Dec 2025.
Play as Bishop Hygebald — who is in no way ready to confront the Vikings on the titular monastery’s doorstep. Gather up Lindisfarne’s scrolls and relics and make it out past the church grounds before the raiders get you, venting in Old English along the way.
A little game about historical chaos
From parallax sprites (modular ship layers) to thatch and flora details to masonry textures, every aspect of this game draws upon historical references to make the game-world feel tangible and lived in.
Lindisfarne has a simple gameplay loop. It’s the historical grounding and atmospheric tension that we think make it charming, and we’re rolling out improvements over time rather than cutting corners.
